Our Story
The story of Ghand-e Parsi began in September 2022, when Peyman Eshaghi taught two PhD students in Religious Studies and Classics from Yale University in Istanbul. It soon became clear that an approach to teaching Persian grounded in the connections between Persian and the learners’ native or known languages could form a strong foundation for mastering academic Persian. Since then, Ghand-e Parsi has grown into a leading hub for learning academic Persian and receiving consultation and mentorship in Persianate studies.

Our Work
At Ghand-e Parsi, we are dedicated to making the rich and timeless Persian language accessible to learners from all backgrounds and levels. Our mission is to foster a deep and meaningful connection with Persian—not only as a modern language spoken by over 110 million people across Iran, Afghanistan, and Tajikistan, but also as a historical and cultural bridge spanning centuries of intellectual, artistic, and spiritual heritage. Persian is more than a language—it's a gateway to a world of literature, philosophy, art, and history. For centuries, Persian served as a lingua franca across the Middle East, Central Asia, and the Indian Subcontinent. It was the language of poets like Rumi, Hafez, Ferdowsi, and Saadi; of Sufi mystics, astronomers, historians, and statesmen. Today, Persian remains a vital means of communication and cultural expression throughout the Persian-speaking world and beyond. Whether you are a student of Islamic, Middle Eastern, or South Asian studies, a lover of poetry and classical literature, or simply curious about one of the world’s most beautiful and historically influential languages—learning Persian offers a powerful connection to a vibrant global heritage. At Ghand-e Parsi, we combine academic rigor with cultural immersion. Our courses are designed for learners at all levels—from complete beginners to advanced researchers—offering both spoken and literary Persian (Farsi, Dari, and Tajiki). Our instructors bring together linguistic expertise and a deep appreciation for the cultural and intellectual traditions embedded in the language. Through our programs, students gain the tools to read classical texts, engage with modern media, and communicate effectively in Persian-speaking environments. Join us and take your first step toward mastering a language that has shaped civilizations, inspired poets, and continues to resonate across continents.

Our Experience
To date, Ghand-e Parsi instructors have provided over 5,000 hours of Persian language instruction and consultation in Persianate studies to more than 50 students, faculty members, and independent learners.
