About the course:

Persian through Codicological Texts Course is tailored for learners who already have strong proficiency in Persian and who wish to broaden both their language skills and their understanding of manuscript culture. Students will read and analyze original Persian texts in their calligraphic form. Emphasis will be placed on mastering reading and understanding unpublished first-hand materials and the styles of calligraphy common in Persian texts. Alongside close reading and translation, the course will introduce the historical context of Persian manuscript production, book arts, and textual transmission. By the end of the course, participants will not only enhance their ability to read complex academic Persian but also gain valuable insight into the intellectual and material heritage of Persian book culture.

Course Details

Schedule: Saturdays & Sundays, 27 June - 13 September, 2026

Time: 10:30–11:30 AM (US Pacific), 1:30–2:30 PM (US Eastern), 7:30–8:30 PM (Central European)

Format: 24 online sessions

Tuition: $600 (payable in installments)

Note: Class days and times may be adjusted in accordance with the request of enrollees.
